Waves of hatred,
a product of evil,
destruct waves of innocence,
emitted from the eyes of beautiful kids,
and broken-hearted girls.
It makes you sad, Rumi
too big for poetry,
too big for tears.
It’s time to leave Balkh again,
after all these years, Rumi
hurry up, leave.
Evil tries to steal your smile,
takes out your freedom
hijacks your beautiful faith.
Yes, Rumi
tooth for tooth and
an eye for an eye.
I agree.
But Rumi, let the palm tree
teach us what we should be.
Rumi, come pray with me
for peace, for the good
to emerge.
Rumi, say with me:
Woe to those who call evil good,
woe to those who poison the honey
and call it honey.
